New year, new outlook

I list want to share my epiphany, as the festive period draws closer, its known as a time for family and friends, but maybe, just maybe the new year is the time to cut the ties with the toxic and negative people in your life.

I've just found out that someone close to me, who I have bent over backwards to keep on an even keel, and have given support to, and encouraged to make choices for a better life, has been lying about me, spreading rumours, and basically doing a top job at character assassination on me behind my back.

I know that she can't help it, she has a diagnosed mental health disorder, and part of that disorder, or should I say one of thee symptoms, is compulsive lying, but I'm not sure that I can hear another person come to me and tell me that she's going round telling lies about me, and then have to work out if she's told these lies to anyone outside of my close circle, that don't know me well enough to question what has been said.

I'm tired, and so it is with a heavy heart that I have to reduce all contact with the person in question, to the minimum possible.

I've realised that I can't help someone who will not be helped, and she's noit going to get any better, she's onlky evereverr going to get worse, because she lies to her mental health team and support workers, she tells the what they want to hear.

You can't keep toxic people in your life, no matter how much you love them, and how much you want them to change, they won't, until nthey decide to, and if that day ever comes, what will you have lost in the mean time, and can you afford to pay that price for someone else's happiness.

So my new outlook is to look after myself, physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally, so that I can grow, and so that I can be the best version of myself that I can be, a better friend, a better father, and maybe one day when I have emotionally rested myself, a better partner to someone I deserve, and who deserves me.

Love yourself fab, love yourself first, then you will know his to love someone else completely.

Sorry for ranting
