When your boss is a knob......

My boss is a knob and not a very good one at that.... He has handed his notice in yeheee and leaves 20 Jan.... The unempathanic dick basically is nice when someone else is there but when we are on our own it's like he is a small child playing kissy chase...

I work in a professional environment so unfortunately have to watch my representation but hate the throught of cutting my nose off to spite my face!..

Question is do so just suck it up as he is leaving so I would have won or go with every bone in my body which want to tell him how I feel about him???

Think I'd let him decide ie if he comes at you for 1 last pop thinking he can give him both barrels reload and give it him again. If he does the whole nicey nice bollex play along. That way it's his own doing and not you being the child. Good luck and stick the boot in for me while your there

Personally, I wouldn't say anything. My attitude would be to not waste any energy interacting with him, beyond what's necessary.

Well he has managed to fuck up my bonus but that's not worth speaking about...

Think you are right it pains me but if Im extra nice what can he do.. I hate being false but it's only for a short while x

As much pleasure as it may give you to rip him a new one before he goes, if he has managed to mess up your bonus, there are probably other things he can mess up too. So possibly err on the side of caution and just play nice before he goes. The other thing is, you never know when you might need a reference and although right now, he is the last person you would ask, you never know what is down the line in 10 years. You have suffered, but now the end is in sight, enjoy!

Thank you Hun it makes sense but in the he is not worth it!... luckily I work for a big firm and have done for 14 years so he is definitely the last person I would go to for a ref x

Me too. Professional feedback and discussion with a boss is only successful if they're professional themselves. I think long and hard now to decide if one can live with myself if I keep quiet. Sadly I usually can't

From your initial post OP, I get the impression that he may have been giving you 'undesirable attention', or am I reading too much into it?

If this is the case, one wonders why you have not reported this to higher management, as it may constitute sexual harassment in the workplace.

I've largely been blessed by the quality and lenience of my managers over the years.

There was only one who was a knob. Clueless Bible-basher, doing his first admin management as part of an MBA in Tosspotology or sommat.

I think it was the morning when I checked the post and saw a white envelope with my name and address handwritten and thought, I kinda recognise that handwriting?

Opened it and found a slim booklet about a dissolute young man who gambled, drank and whored his way through life and then WENT TO HELL.

And I thought, my boss sent me that?

So I undermined the cunt with senior management. He didn't last 6 months. Not all my work, clearly, he was just incompetent.
