isn't it about time the authorities let airlines flew if they wanted to ....

Provided That Those Airlines agree and legally accept ...

a) passengers have the option to cancel/re-book at no penalty cost to them if they were worried about flying,

AND

b) should the aircraft crash then the Warsaw/Chicago Conventions do not apply and civil damages would apply..

that should shut that Ryanair chap up

its not expected to hit the southern airports but some planes might be positioned incorrectly ...my b/f is fleet controller for his airline hes not expecting any problems further south than liverpool ...

Awesome idea. And I can see no flaws with an idea that puts such a decision with a commercial organisation solely interested in making as big a profit as possible as opposed to an organisation who's primary concern is safety. Oh no, wait, what if the plane comes down over a city and kills thousands?

I must admit that I'm watching the news with avid interest - I don't go on holiday for 9 weeks, should be sorted by then, but these bloody natural disasters don't always play by the rules do they, so inconvenient

Never mind the planes- my windows are all covered in ash after the storm. It'Ll take me AGES to clean them. Maybe it'll just wash off with the rain

the boss of ryanair is nothing but a grandstanding l**r. said his a/c flew in the red zone over the scottish highlands on wed and their was no ash. he did not the danger area was upto 20,000 feet and his a/c flew around at 41,000 feet twice the level of the ash. have worked on his a/c before and hope i never do again and would never fly with them what ever the price.

and on wed morning the car had ash on it at 05:30.
