The UK is sending a battalion to Estonia to show solidarity with our NATO allies, and hopefully deter any Russia aggression.

If Russia were to invade Estonia, and Estonia asked for collective defence through NATO, should the UK go to their defence and fight back against the Russians, or is Estonia not worth defending when it actually comes down to it?

Would it make a difference if some of the troops we have in the country were killed by the Russians during the initial invasion?

I have friends who live there and they are very nervous of Putin/Russia and rightly so.

Putin once said it would take Russia 60 hours to invade the whole of Europe if it wanted to.

And yes we should defend them as they are apart of Nato but its just a token gesture we know that and so doe's he.

That's why I asked the two scenarios, people might think we have to respond if British personnel have been killed, but if they haven't maybe we justl out and leave them to it.

Surely there are an infinite number of scenario and outcome,,,

Right now this very minute there are 100000 terrified kids trapped in Aleppo .... while much of the world watches the scenarios unfold and waits for an outcome..

That's due to our forces being a shadow of what they used to be.

Which is why it is important that Russia believes without any shadow of a doubt that NATO would come to the Baltic States defence. No ifs or buts...
