Now I understand this is a swingers site but I'm sure there's a few F1 fans amungst the male fraternity.

Anyway Britney Rosberg has just announced his retirement from F1 . I can't honestly say I'll miss him in any way shape or form but still a shock!

Bit of a cop-out I'd say, pretty clear he doesn't back himself to repeat this year's championship win again.

Mark Webbers nickname for Rosberg when they both drove for Williams! Apparently someone even recently his passport photo to one of Ms Spears!

That was my first thought! He only won this championship because Hamiltons car kept going tech on him!

and last year rosbergs car kept failing... its swings and roundabouts....

I for one am happy for him, young family, F1 is a very dangerous sport, he has reached the pinnacle, personal achievement completed, move on....

Could be the perfect time to retire with whispers around the paddock that Red Bull may have THE car to beat next year...

Obviously realised that this was the best season he will ever have, and has decided to jump before he's pushed out of Mercedes. He's a solid driver, but nowhere near the talent of Hamilton, Verstappen or Riccardio

Newcastle and Gateshead

Fair play to him.... if he wants to get out now he has just had a kid and it's still a dangerous sport

He has earned enough money that he won't be in the Monaco version of the job centre next week

JB, he's the only driver available at short notice. They'll go for a stop gap option and try to sign a marquee name for the 2018 season.

What a podium though for the last race...current and previous champions. Were there five previous champions that started too including these, kimi, button, Alonso, vettel, Lewis and then Brittney

Scunthorpe

I must say I was surprised that he'd retired, but he really struggled personally with the stress of this season. It's surely better to go now as a world champion (All be it a lucky one), than go into a new set of rules changes where he may not even be in a competitive car and still behind Lewis.

Personally I'm a fan of Hamilton, but I think that Nico has done a good job this season and deserves the result he got. And all the talk of Hamilton's reliability issues can be cancelled out be his own bad starts... any one of them could have been the difference between winning the championship or not.

Smart move.

He knows next year will be even harder with the new regs and Lewis fired up.

Finish on top.

Well let's hope so. Young Verstappen is a brilliant driver, we're not keen on Hamilton at all.

I'm not so sure, wherlein is Merc's protege and he was overlooked by Force India in favour of Ocon. Wherlein was also testing for Merc on Monday.

As regards RB next year, I'm not 100% convinced, I think most people are tipping them is because the new regs are very aero biased which will suit Newey but looking at what Merc has done on the aero side the past few years coupled with their superior engine means you'd be foolish to write them off. Also merc has had such a big advantage over the competition that they propably started in their 2017 car before most other teams!

I agree, maybe I'm just hoping that the others can challenge properly at last and I think that the Red Bulls are in the best position for the very reason you mention. Adrian Newey is a design genius on the aero packages. Hopefully, Ferrari can't possibly be as bad again for yet another year. Wouldn't it be nice to see half a dozen or so cars, all within a tenth or two on race pace? Giving fans some proper racing up front.

That would be aswsome, at least we've had LH vs NR these past 3 years unlike vettels total domination
