Has started showing a yellow warning triangle on the dashboard. It's only happened since it's been cold. I didn't notice it today once once it had warmed (haha) up slightly. Any ideas?

Would suggest if it's a yellow light it's informing you of something eg low fuel red lights are a warning eg brakes

It'll tell you in your handbook look and don't panic lol

The yellow triangle that you are viewing is a warning light that you will need to have your car serviced. This can be either a warning light for your engine, motor or a computer problem within your car. In order to have it figured out properly you are going to need to take it to a location that can place the code reader on your device to tell you what is specifically wrong with your car.

If it is a yellow Triangle with an Exclamation Mark in the centre, it is known as the Master Warning Light. This either comes on or flashes and is sometimes accompanied by a buzzer to indicate that the Master warning system has detected a malfunction.

You may need to speak to your local Toyota Dealer

This same symbol, an exclamation point in a triangle, in yellow or amber has been used by European vehicle manufacturers to indicate a fault in the vehicle’s Stability Control System. The vehicle can be driven with caution, but without the benefit of the advanced electronic control system. See your dealer as soon as possible

Yes, lots of independent mechanics can read the fault and should be able to offer an answer so if you need to go quote shopping you know what to ask for ...

A yellow warning sign means ...there is a fault get it looked at as a matter of course...a red warning light dont not go any further there is a serious problem

Wish you'd mentioned that to begin with. That is perfectly normal. It's supposed to do that. When you first switch on, warning lights are supposed to illuminate and then extinguish - it's to let the driver know that the warning systems and lights are in working order.

Don't panic, if it's not in limp mode it's nothing serious. This time of year car batteries take a beating and a low battery can throw up all sorts of weird and wonderful warnings that don't actually exist.

Take it to a garage, pretty much any will, do and have them run a diagnostic for a few quid. Make sure they give you the codes on a piece of paper and come back here with them.

Also have them check your battery, both with the ignition off and with the car running.

Alternatively you can buy a code reader for about £20 and read the code yourself.

What fuel does the car run on and what kind of mileage do you drive on average per day/week?

Modern cars need servicing every year at least. I do mine every 6,000 miles!

It's petrol and hardly any miles really as I only use it for the journey to and from work. It gets a longer stint every other weekend when I drive to drop my children to their dads. When I've got in the car the past couple of mornings it's been registering at least minus 2 and again tonight when I left work so it's come up. But I didn't notice it this morning when I went out once everything had thawed a bit.

Having had a very dodgy car, and I mean dodgy!! I'm paranoid about any odd noise, warning sign that has never been seen before. And this one hasn't, so now having a mild panic. It was serviced in may and not due one for another 2000 miles or so.
