Anyone see it? It was 'quite the thing' on Twatter last night.

In a series of (now mostly deleted) tweets the former Darts star posted some 'controversial' _iews about the footballers who suffered from sexual abuse as youngsters.

He suggested that footballers were wimps and Darts players were 'real men' who when older and stronger, would have gone and 'sorted out those poofs' (later he redacted that saying he meant paedophiles)

He has just been sacked by Sky Sports for his _iews which, at best, showed a stunning amount of naivety about the horrors of abuse.

Some folk need to think before they bloody type (and he's a sexist twit too).

They inter_iewed a football mum on the news yesterday whose cherub plays for a small league and she basically said that it (abuse) happens but i don't have to worry about that.

I felt like jumping through the tv and shaking some sensitivity into her.

You cant just take the law into your own hands, the abuser needs to be taken to court and punnished, he may well have been joking because if that had happened to him he would of felt like sorting the abuser out when he was older. Its not a very nice thing to say about the footballers though seeing as what they have been through.

I don't have a problem with the suggestion that some people may decide to take retribution for past abuse, albeit not the best course.

What I have an issue with is his regard for people who have taken a lead in doing something that has already provided so many others with the courage to come forward.

He's a twat and despite his claims I'll bet he won't be leaving the safety of his house any time soon.

He's a prick appealing to the violent lowest common denominator. I'm sure he'll have legions of bottom feeding supporters on social media who'll declare that "you can't say anything these days" and "political correctness gone mad".

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Was listening to a Lbc today and they were talking in length about it.

Have to say I believe unless you have been abused I don't think you can truly say what you would do.
