two questions...

1, So you prepare a meal for yourself.... but do you always finish your plate or would you leave uneaten food on your plate ...

2, So you are served a meal consisting of several food groups which have been placed separately on your plate..... do you eat each food group one at a time using a selective preference or do you just free range ....

Ok in answer to question 1 i only eat until im full so if im full and theres food left it gets left

I like yo have a bit of evertythng so yes i would free range

1. Always stuff left on the plate, because I am crap with portion sizes; however I live in the countryside so nothing is ever wasted.

2. I free range; living alone (in the main); I cook what I enjoy eating and don't feel forced to eat foods I dislike but know are good for me, hence everything on my plate has a place in my heart 9and stomach)

Hubby never leaves anything on his plate, regardless of who has prepared it. Also he eats things in groups, starting with the food he likes the least, ie sprouts and leaving the best 'til last, as in the meat! Cute!

1, If it's really tasty, I'll clear the lot, even if I'm full

2, I might save the tastiest 'til last, but I'm more likely to put a bit of each on my fork.

I always err on the side of caution so there is rarely more than i can manage on a plate i have filled myself.

If the food served is all that i like then because i don't have a massive appetite & overeating is not condusive to my health i would have a bit of each unless like another poster there were sprouts on the plate, in which case they are my priority

But parsnips are only good when they are red hot! When they cool down they go a bit...uurgh.

1. I may or may not leave some of it. I can't pre-gauge my hunger that exactly and I always eat to hunger and never to the "you have to clear your plate" rule.

2. I graze. I leave bits. I may not touch entire groups of food. I may wolf some of it. And I may take bits from each and mix them.

So basically I'm unpredictable and inconsistent.

1- I always finish what is on my plate when I'm eating at home (I wouldn't take more than I wanted and I don't go back for more, either).

2- It depends on what I'm eating, but generally speaking I can't mix different food items on a plate. Marc wants to buy me those plates for kids that have different sections on them for different foods because I'm so weird about it

1, I have been known to leave some, but most of the time i would finish the whole meal because I made it myself and its tasty.

2, If the food groups went together i would free range. If it was say cheese, sausage and fish pie, I would probably eat individual items. Although I can never imagine eating that selection.

Too much is impossible as we have a very large greedy dog. If he gets lots of family dinner he gets less of his own..

2.

A little bit of this & a little bit of that, graze basically.. although as a kid I would eat everything separately..

I regularly can't finish my plate. But someone else will finish it. Or the dogs can have it.

And I'm a fussy bugger so I'd eat the food groups I like first. Then say I'm full and not eat the rest.

This is why I don't like eating in front of people

ive been thinking about this - in my job i have to support patients to eat as they are no longer able to feed themselves due to dementia - and i realise that i will say put some beans with sausage, or cabbage with mash - just as i would myself - but - we do practise portion control but nearly always try and get them to clear the plate - unless its obvious theyre not hungry or enjoying it

1. My eyes are often bigger than my belly so I may well leave some food. The other half and/or the cats usually hoover that up.

2. I nearly always put a bit of everything on the same fork rather than eat different things separately. However, until it reaches my mouth I do have a 'thing' about certain foods touching each other and/or even being adjacent to each other for that matter. Food rules
