Short skirt or knickerless?

This is probably one mainly for the guys, but comments from women are equally welcome.

The scenario involves going out to a regular pub or restaurant, (and trying not to get thrown out!)

The woman involved would like to go in a short skirt and without knickers. However, going without knickers means needing stockings (it's too cold for bare legs now) and the skirt she has is too short to wear with stockings in public.

My question to you is should she go in the short skirt with undies and tights as normal, and boots? Or should she wear something else and go without knickers? Or a third option?

[And just in case, the woman in the scenario is not overweight so is permitted out in public without a modesty shroud.]

It does depend on where she is from.

If a southern softer then an absolute minimum of thermal long John's under thick tights, however if she is from Newcastle a 4" skirt with no knickers and 2 postage stamps for her nipples will be plenty warm enough

She's not got time/is not willing to buy new clothes for the scenario and unfortunately has very short skirts, long skirts and jeans, not much else.

The 4" skirt with stockings would be fine in a club, but not for a local pub! It's not *just* about the cold

Ok how about long skirt with hold ups and knickers then take the knickers off at the table/bar and hand them to her partner saying "I won't need these tonight"?
