Been after the ucs 10179 Millennium Falcon made by Lego but it's the price of a small car on eBay but a friend said look at "Lepin" as it's cheaper, so I had a look and yep lepin make it and it's only about £200

I like the price. Any one else has got lepin kits?

A mate of mine has the original Lego Millennium Falcon, still in its wrapper and stored in his loft, with no intentions of cracking the seal.

After Googling Lepin and having a read about them they seem like right scumbags.

But yeah, Lego is massively overpriced these days which is really quite sad.

See, what you need to do is get yourself down to the beaches in Cornwall and start collecting free Lego pieces from there. The cost of your time in actually finding all the correct pieces may actually be cheaper than buying a Lego set of your own

No, I have a LEGO Falcon sealed in da box which is protected in layers of waterproof and impact proof foam and hidden in the loft.

It's to be opened in 2070 to celebrate me being 100 years old.

I've heard that Lego will re-release the 10179 kit if so I'll buy that but this lepin is a cheap alternative just to have it on display

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

£200 for some lego may seem cheap on a subjective basis when the original is so highly valued.

But, objectively, it's an appalling exploitation. The markup on the production cost would make a payday loan interest rate look like good value.

Less expensive cheap

Our grandkids live in Bude and often find bits of that Lego washed up on the beach...not quite got enough for a Millennium Falcon yet though

Buy a load of random buckets of Lego from ebay then go to the Lego website and download the build plans for the Millennium Falcon. Ok it won't be slate grey, it'll be an attractive harlequin colour scheme.

"But can it make the Kessel run in under twelve parsecs?"

They got it wrong there. A parsec is a measurement of distance not time as hand solo wrongly declared.

My son is lego mad. Some of the stuff he has is going for a fortune on e-bay especially the pirates of the Caribbean ships. It can be a good investment.

Just a follow up on the fake Lego falcon set 10179 by lepin

Well I got the set for Christmas and only cast £140 and wow what a set it's just as good as Lego and have to say.. me buying other lepin sets will not put Lego out of business so if your looking to get it then you will not be disappointed

Hans declaration was not inaccurate, he may have been lying but his boast about the Kessel run is a measure of distance not time. According to king George the Hyperdrive allows for faster than light travel meaning all objects must be accounted for before engagement. Look at how they disengage in the meteor storm that was once Alderaan. So a skilled pilot and kick ass flight computer to minimise the distance. There is also chat that Han may have used dangerous maneuvers near distance space black to further diminish his overall distance to 12 parsecs. Which I think is the kind of ballsy move one can expect from a Solo.

Not necessarily wrong, depends how far the kessel run is, and if there is a shortcut...

Stupid over excitement at star wars stuff.

TL,DR Han used the superior flight computer and dangerous manoeuvres near black holes to complete the Kessel run in 12 parsecs. Distance, not time.

I think you will find the actual flight computer on the original MilleniUm Falcon is exactly the same one used in the leppin kits

Amazon are listing it 'new' at around 6 grand!

This is an early version of the collectors edition, if I remember.

I've been working on versions of the X-Wing and Tie Interceptor - gathering the pieces from Bricklink rather than buying the set. Some of the parts though are expensive as they're rather rare - mainly cockpit pieces, but I'm almost finished on both.

I'm fairly sure that there's a newer version of the Collectors Edition Falcon, which may actually be a better model - I don't know for sure though but I'll go do a bit of searching
