I use a cup and saucer, but then I'm the Butler, so by virtue I'm all posh and shit.

Besides, where would I place my 3 mandatory custard creams/Garibaldi?

Its all about the details

Well then you will know pinky/slinky pointing denotes elitism.

According to the rules of etiquette cultured people eat their tiffin goodies using only three fingers whereas commoners grasp their treats with all five fingers....

Is that a euphemism? It feels like a euphemism, I am quite known for grabbing my "treats" with both hands

I don't have anything "pink" as such to stick out, and if I say I stick out a "browny" it has rather sinister overtones, don't you think?

Surely a saucer for a mug is an thoroughly unnecessary necessity......which in my world makes it a very necessary necessity .....

The only respectable way to drink your brew is from a British Tea Power mug

I never drink coffee from anything but a cup and saucer, it just tastes better. I love the ritual and ceremony involved in laying out an embroidered cloth, linen napkins and good china. Life is about making every day a cup and saucer day if you ask me.

I just had to consult Professor Google on Punsch rolls, I'm not mad keen on marzipan but the rest sounds lovely.

Really dont use a cup that much, in a pinch a cup serves as a ladle, dishing out a bowl of chili or stew, tea in a glass full of ice

Well there I was in the cake shop feeling ever so out of sorts , but then suddenly I came all over Alan Bennett like ...

The assistant said to me.... you just try one of our fondant fancies, to which I replied, I was thinking about investing a custard tart or an almondy flavoured frangipane.......

Well I can tell you, my purchase was devoured with gusto as I sat on a park bench without realising my trouser leg had ridden up and was now revealing one of my sock suspenders...
