I've made a few very close friends on here that I now know outside the scene. I also have some nice friends in the scene. If you look for it in the right places you'll find it over time. Doesn't happen overnight though

It was four years ago this month I met my first forum friend. We went to the theatre and although she doesn't come on the forum any more I will still see her if I'm in her part of the country.

Nope. I choose to meet those that are looking for more than cold, clinical sex and less than full blown relationship.

Makes for a good basis of a friendship

It's nice that something has the exact same outlook as me. I don't want coldness, just close intimate friendships

Like most things in life, you get out of it what you put in, so if you come across as cold and unfriendly then others will reflect your negative energy right back at you, look at the replies here, some are positive and some reflect your own negativity, mostly the people we have met through the forum's and the site are happy smiley peoples

It can be. I have only met hostility personally on the very rare occasion. I joined in conversations and games until a few people started noticing me. I put a bit of thought into my profile and my pictures based on what I was learning. I was friendly and tried to have a laugh and soon I found this place was a friendly place to hang out. 3 years later I'm still here because I enjoy the camaraderie and I can post crap from time to time and not get any grief.

I came here as a single guy and have some good friends (was at a friends tonight as it goes..she was the first person I met through fab) I met my gf through here and I've a couple more mates I stop in on when I'm in their part of the country so it can also be bloody lovely for men on balance

It's just people behind the profiles and forum posts..sitting at home drinking tea or whatever, watching telly in pyjamas or whatever..be yourself and like attracts like just like in normal life
