... they do things differently there."

Looking at old photos over the last couple of days I am recognisably me, I'm wearing the same sort of clothes (virtually identical, just in a larger size) and there are objects that I still have around me now. Yet, that person is not one I know anymore.

What things do you do differently now?

I control my emotions much better. I'm much more laid back. It's like I'm a different person to who I was just a few years ago.

I'm looking forward to learning new skills that I think obviously come with age and experience...

There is nothing obvious about things coming with age and experience. Trust me on this, as an aged and experienced bint.

I hope you're enjoying the current you.

As a teenager I used to shave religiously every day and change my pants once a week, these days I don't shave quite so much.

Since having a child I am much more comfortable around vomit

Nose juice is still though.

I am more comfortable in my own skin but still feel like I'm 16. I trust my judgement more - most of the time.

Sticking to the pants routine though?

I get actual enjoyment out of getting bogies out of my nieces and nephew's noses!

Nose juice goes on for such a long time...

Trusting oneself is a good thing.

Interesting, depends how far back you go. If you go back 10 years then im inrecognizable. But if you go back 30 years ago then i am.

Actually if you go back 26 years ago there are pictures of me doing exactly what i was doing then. Only its my grandsons im holding holding and posing with rather than my son. As for clothes nothing remotely similar.

But there is a picture of my mum when she was 15 wearing the exact dress i would wear now

I've found it's not so much new skills but new outlooks, whether it's patience or foresight or just admitting to yourself 'does it really matter'.

You've just answered it.

More just being thoughtful and self aware, rather than just acting and speaking on impulse. Thinking and planning ahead, rather than just living in the moment.

There are periods of my life I don't remember much about so I don't know what I do differently.

Thinks can change fairly dramatically over a short period of time for me and then swing back, or off in another direction altogether.

I'm not always sure who I am now, never mind who I was 2 years or 20 years ago.

I find that I appreciate natural beauty more without necessarily seeing it in a sexual sense. I can sit on public transport and see someone naturally beautiful and marvel at how that came about in a genetic way.

I live life one day at a time and trust the future to take care of itself. Guess I now realise the futility of trying to predict the future..

I had a bit of a journey of the last decade over the weekend.

It was very interesting, a little emotional, and I'd say it's helped me focus a bit more. It's definitely highlighted progress I've made.

This week has been an interesting lesson in removing the clutter. Simple is becoming more appealing the older I get.
