I don't think I could go up to one of those burger van things and say, "I'd like a bacon square/round bread based product, please".

"Never heard it called a batch before "

I haven't heard of some of these, but that's the reason I didn't give a list of them as I knew they'd be some that called them something different.

I call it a roll.

Baps have different texture, more doughy than rolls. Cobs are hard and crusty.

Hinckley

It's a cob!

If I'm being magnanimous (which I rarely am), if it's soft, it could (possibly) be a roll but if it's crusty it's definitely a cob.

When I first moved here and I heard people talking about buying a batch I was like wtf? Had no idea what they were talking about..........eventually I realised that they were buying a cob

Am I missing something? I wasn't claiming that is the correct terminology to use....

Looks like a sense of humour failure to me! I apologise for not taking your "bread thread" seriously....

Aww shit I did it again! Could say I'm on a "roll"

Barm or bap. Where I come from a 'barm' is also a term for someone who does daft things e.g. 'Why did you do that ya barm'.

And baps is a term for boobs

If it's got bacon in it it's a roll, if it's got a burger in it it's a bun.
