For us the right ankle means I am available - and it's on my right ankle a lot lol But that is just us, I'm not aware that there is a general rule.

I'm 57 and have worn a gold chain on my right ankle since I was 22 .... and not once have I been asked why I wear it OR whether it symbolises my availability. I wear it because I like it and because it was a gift from a very close friend who envied me my ankles!!

A much debated topic and the general consensus is that an ankle bracelet is just jewellery. However, I think it's meaning is in the mind of the wearer. Some people wear due to the sexual connotation which clearly exists. Some wear as a piece of jewellery. So for those who wear as jewellery crack on.... for those who like the hidden meaning... you too! For those seeing the jewellery on others don't assume it's the latter it may cause you problems!
