Why can my mother not manage to put the milk back in my fridge the right way round?

Ah the old right way round debate. Same as which way should the toilet roll go on the holder. I hear what you are saying. I've been told I'm a fussy bugger but I like things the right way round too. Jack.

There will be a reason, it will be one that makes you go but it will make sense to her.

Hopefully not because she knows it winds you up?

There's sense to this though.

The milk container is longer than it is wide.

Put in one way it takes up more room in the shelf in the door and limits what else can fit.

It fits both ways round, so I put it in so it takes less of the width of the shelf.

I've explained this to mum several times.

Even when the shelf is full, so when she takes the milk out, it will only fit back in one way, she'll still not manage it.

"Hopefully not because she knows it winds you up?"

I'm pretty sure it's not this.

She just has some sort of mental block about the milk.

See my post below yours for my explanation of the right way. It's only 'right' in relation to my fridge.

I was a bit worried we were closing in on something specific though. I can deal with my general air of blokeish 'in the wrong-ness'

What's she like with toilet roll, does she have it new sheet hanging down over, or under , that usually divides people

In your mother's defence, surely the only really wrong way round for the milk is upside down..

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

OP, that's not a random musing, it's very specific.

Does she hold the carton in a specific way that may lead to it naturally going in the 'wrong' way?

You mean your mum is facing the wrong way. Is it cos you are distracting her?

Good question. I haven't actually observed her carton putting back technique.

I shall pay attention in future.
