Most prefer more sunlight so orientate it to face south. Some exceptions though.

My favourites are the round pink and yellow ones with the licorice in the middle

Depending on the conditions at about £75 a gram, grow and harvest saffron which is more expensive than gold and its possible to grow in the UK.....

Then use the money to buy your veg from Lidl...

This top-tip was brought to you via the Sox book of Dragons-Den ideas...

What type of soil do you have?

Peppers really need a greenhouse even in the south.

Do you know what ate your runner beans?

If you look on the net there's loads of information.

Mice are fond of runners - I find it's best to start them off in peat pots or similar and then stick them out after the last frosts. Do two beans per pot in case one doesn't germinate.

Carrots want sandy soil and are prone to fly - you need to ridge them up and then plant the seed into the ridge - thin when they are about an inch long (plant lots of seed).

Spring onions grow like s if you can get the spot right - they like it damp.

As has been said, peppers need a greenhouuse really. YOu can finish them off outside though, especially if its a hot summer.

Cabbages tend to get munched so plant under net tunnels.

old coffee grounds are great for slug deterrent...if you live near any coffee shops they will often give you big bags of them free!

Don't put coffee grounds on your garden. Caffeine slows plant growth down and you'll get poor growth.
