"I accept some people are able too reach a state of being beyond my comprehension but I just can't get my head around meditation.. Its like I'd be searching for something but I don't what it is or how to recognise it if I found it...... It's simply beyond me.... " That's a shame , I recon someone as intelligent as yourself would get a lot out of clearing your mind for a while

You may be pleasantly surprised at the results

"To a degree. It's the same stuff as the #NoFap movement (which I can confirm works) - Essentially, wanking isn't normal behaviour for grown men, but porn, etc has made it so. Whenever I go more than a week without wanking (you can still cum during sex, as the brain can differentiate between a wank and sex) I feel better in almost every way... More Confident with women, more assertive, better at sex, better at work, better ability to think clearly. It sounds like mumbo jumbo, but it actually works. We are releasing the hormoan that makes us a man every time we pull one off. " Interesting. I have argued this with men in the past to be told that it was absolutely necessary to release the cum or they'd 'back up'.

" I think if certain men went too long (men who were already high testosterone types) they'd become angry and aggressive, but for men who maybe aren't as "alpha" as they'd like to be, giving up, or massively cutting down on the wanking is one of the best things you can do. I used to wank at least 3 times a day and it gave me ED. I stopped the wanking purely so I could start performing again sexually and it had ended up having all these other positive side effects that I'd heard guys mention but assumed were bullshit.

"it sounds like an oxymoron, when meditating I am so relaxed I cant even raise a smile let alone owt else.. " The more relaxed you are and the clearer your mind the better it is.

"Went to an OM workshop as was curious but felt like a cult. They kept pestering me to go on a longer course, eventually had to insist they never contact me again " I don't think its cultish per se but they are massive on the upsell. Way too much for my liking and puts me off! Did u enjoy the workshop and did u practice on the afternoon? I got sat with a man from Austria who was into tantra and we ended up in his hotel room at lunch after after the workshop. Neither of us agreed with the 15 minute thing. I'm much harder work than that

You may be pleasantly surprised at the results" The thing is, much as I envy anyone who can access their inner peace or find a place in their mind that provides them with level of calm contentment, But my life reached a point where I'm now able to spend my much of my active thinking focused on helping overcome the challenge faced by those unfortunates who are simply clinging onto their very survival.... I feel meditation might risk the amount of commitment and energy I'm able to put towards that endeavour ....... I've had an extraordinarily good life, and I don't feel I've missed out on anything I ever longed for, so for me to enter a search looking to find something I've so far managed well without would be a self-gratuity I'm not comfortable with. I feel in doing so, I might risk diluting what remains of my enthusiasm to continue doing what I do, in the way that I'm able to do it.. and the risk of that happening is an unacceptable consequence But I genuinely envy and respect those who find what they seek in meditation....
