Courting ill health

I just watched last nights britians got talent and the was the guy that came on stage first thing he said was his name and he was a diabetic.

It happens all the while, bus stops supermarkets and other places. People just start telling you all about their illnessess and ailments. Why? Its like they thrive on being ill

I think for some, it consumes their very being.

The very ill I can understand..

the lesser so.. the day you allow it, it is the first day you start to lose the fight.

To be fair it's the same with OAPs - I visit them alot and they always insist on telling me how old they are

very true. maybe its just a way of starting a conversation or making you aware of something.

but if someone is ill i would like to know about it. not easy for everyone to deal with if its very serious.

lol..so true i deal with a lot of oaps with ym work and once they hit 80 its a rule they have to tell you exactly how old they are!! bless em

True - being a First Aider I always discreetly enquire about any illnesses from new starters

Oh i just loves old people. and some are very difficult to love.

Had one old dear who was very fiery and testy...didnt like most but had her faves...

But then she was 106 , so had earned the right in my book to be anything she wanted.

And still had most of her facultys to.

Tell anyone you're a nurse and then thats the end of all nomal conversation as they tell you everything about their medical history from the year dot

There was an old lady in tesco the other week and she apologized to me for being slow. I told her not to worry. She then came back and told me that not only did she have the excuse of being old and senile but she was bottled fed instead of breast fed.

Oldies im quite happy with, its just people that court ill health like some sort of trophy
