Dunbartonshire

Doubt there will be many here into UFC/MMA. Tonight and into early Sunday morning is UFC 205. It looks a good card with a few good fights in the prelims with Frankie Edgar back in action and also Belal Muhammad.

Kaitlyn Chookiagian v Liz Carmouche looks a good prelim match up in the womans division. Frankie Edgar v Jeremy Stephens looks a tad one sided in Edgars favour , Rafael Natal v Tim Boetsch , Balal Muhammad v Vicente Luque and Thiago Alves v Jim Miller look 3 half decent fights and should wet the appetite for the main card.

All eyes will be on Connor McGregor v Eddie Alvarez in the final fight.Though to be honest I can not see it being much of a fight certainly not like the Diaz v Mcgregor fights anyway.

Alvarez although lethal when striking has also been known to take his time and wear down his opponent's. This could be in my mind McGregor's downfall here as his stamina has came into question last 2 fights. He lost the last 2 rounds against Nate Diaz in the last fight and looked dead on his feet in the first Diaz fight after a couple of tough rounds.

McGregor may try to end this in the first 2 rounds but face an opponent who hhas faced the best around the world. One that will work every inch of the octogon and make McGregor work extremely hard.

I cant see a winner coming from KO or Submission here though can see Alvarez taking this match on decision.

Before the main card fight I expect to see a couple of upsets with Stephen Thompson beating Tyron Woodley and Yoel Romero running Chris Weidman close.

(Probably bored most of you to sleep with this post lol)

Ufc threads often here, granted not as detailed as yours

Alvarez is a wild puncher and takes a lot of shots. And unlike diaz mcgregor is bigger than Alvarez and longer reach. Mcgregor should take him

Great card tho. Wonder boy and woodley b great fight and those 2 polish girls

wow you couldn't be more wrong, Conner is going to get taken down and beat up and beat even more when he gasses

Alvarez is a world class fight has been for years....I've been an mma fan since about 2002, Conner might win but anyone that really knows this sport knows its a slim chance

l might bet on Michael Johnson vs Khabib. l think he could have an upset: has the power, athleticism and grappling. Khabib will probs win but it's a decent bet.

I normally skip the prelims, watch the main card and then decide if I can be bothered with the pre-lims.

The card is stacked right from the Fight Pass Card.

I'm going with Khabib, Lil Heathen, Yomero, Raquel, Woodley, JJ and McGregor.

I thought Aldo would beat him and still believe he would in a rematch (anyone can land a ko with 4oz gloves), mendes never had much of a chance over 5 rounds on 2 weeks notice as he doesn't keep in great shape like Nate does. Nate blew the rematch in the fourth by gassing himself a bit trying to.get the finish in the third with conor against the fence.

So all in all fair play to conor but I'm still rooting for Eddie tonight just so khabib will get his shot if he wins his fight as I believe conor will hold 2 divisions up with his rumoured break

Nearer 5.30am as his coach said on the mmahour this week the walk out is plotted in for 12.30 local time due to the size of the card so ruining the fact it would of usually been over earlier than the west coast cards

McGregors awesome n'all but I want to watch the full event. The cards so stacked that the prelims would make a good fox event of there own. Any idea what time the event starts?

Ha true. I started bjj with john kavanagh before getting gym more local and thought sun shined from his ass in bjj terms but listening to him now he's an idiot and holding mcgregor back. He should have left for top us team years ago

I'm so excited for this! McGregors fight is just too close to call. Big fan of him, but Alvarez is no pushover. McGregor could get dropped tonight unless he really fights strategically.

Looking forward to Stephens fight too, he's really underestimated and he should ruin Edgar. Huge power and accuracy, with his legs and his fists

Women don't love rich and extremely athletic men? Wonder if that's why the all have supermodel level wives, including Mcgregor.

No; some women love rich and extremely athletic men. That's how they have "supermodel level" wives - because they met some of the women who did. That does not equate to all women loving rich and extremely athletic men.
