The land of grey peas and bacon

Have you ever come acrosd someone in your life that you haven't forgot in a good way?

An old school friend came over last night I hadn't seen him in 18 years in fact he asked me out all them years ago but turned him down...

I asked him what made you look me up on Facebook and he said because I was unforgettable for the way I was back then...it made me smile

First girl I ever kissed. We bump in to each other occasionally and I still get butterflies. If we're ever out and see each other we always kiss. No contact after, just always kiss. Passionate kissing and flirting. She's engaged

I always remember the good looking ones.

And i have met a few of them. Most over 30 years ago.

There is someone who I'll never forget. We only ever met in person once and that was on a Christmas Day, many years ago. I had split up with a long term girlfriend, had no job, and was in a very dark place.

She recognised that I was in trouble and called me to invite me to join her family for lunch. She brought me back from the brink of the abyss.

Off the grid

People who went out of their way to be nice to me. I was even more geeky and socially awkward way back then than I am now.

I was definitely not part of the IN crowd and struggled to make it into the geeky crowd periphery.

So when someone didn't ignore me and was nice to me, those are the people that stick in my mind. Very rare people.

I remember everyone I've ever met or been in contact with. I can't place one person above the rest because I remember every single person the same. I could name every kid in my classes from 1986 to to 1999 and our teachers.

There are a few people like that, I have a friend in her 70s that I call Aunty and her name (as we used to years ago for family friends) who is one of the people who really helped me years ago when I'd lost my way in life.

There are plenty that are unforgettable, but also sadly a few that I wish that I'd never even met in the first place.....

I have a similarly good memory but not eidetic like Fags' is. However unforgettable people I can only describe as people who have left an imprint on my heart. The memories are different, they are brighter, more vivid, accompanied with emotions, smells, tastes, tone of voice in conversations and detail my other memories don't possess in the same way. There are two, maybe three, of those people, who aren't family, that I consider unforgettable. Whenever I think of them I can't help but smile

I was seeing someone casually a couple of years ago, but it's quite obvious that I was actually in love with her. I won't be forgetting her in a hurry. I get very strong flashbacks to this day.

in the eye of the storm

Yes a few they touched me deeply really got me in the same way I really got them .kind of embarrassed to say this but sometimes I have the feeling that destiny played a part and put me and them where we needed to be to meet .

A girl contacted me on face-story saying do you remember me from school ummmmmmm nope

She remembered me and said I was one of the nicer blokes. Still don't remember her.

That reminds me of someone in chat that reminded me that I shagged her about 8 years ago previously - remember going to club that night but not shagging her

Nope. Over the years, my brain got so full of names, that it started discarding the ones I never see any more.

Nowadays, I find it quite difficult retaining the names of people I'm introduced to - unless I make an effort (which usually means I like them).

Every time I've changed jobs, I've unconsciously binned the names of old colleagues. None were friends, so seems pointless remembering people I'll never see again.

Yeah....a few years ago when i was a student: i met a stunning woman ( my jaw dropped when i first saw her) anyway, a few months after the course finished we swapped numbers and stayed in touch.

In the middle of last year we dated briefly ( the most amazing 3 months of my life) sadly she called it a day and hasnt spoken to me since.

So many things remind me of her on a daily basis. Wish i never dated her...only so i could speak with her on a regular basis....

One of my bestest mates who died nearly 9 years ago is totally unforgettable as she was one of the strongest & most inspirational people I've ever known

And much more recently a person who left my life in a different way but he will most definitely be unforgettable

I also have this, utterly useless information! Yet when I'm at work and need to recall something important I struggle. It's like my brain is full on pointless info haha

Totally get that....met a guy dated for months and fell head over heels in love with him, he touched my soul but decided to block me off everything as he wanted to and to move on...I saw him recently and kept my dignity and had a brief chat..I think he will always be my unforgettable person

There and to the left a bit

Loads from my past I can remember clearly for one reason or another (my closest friends I've known for 40 odd years now and still see) ..in fact the further back I go probably the more people I remember and clearly at thst, even passing aquaintances...whereas take me back 2 or 3 years and unless someone played a key part in my life, they're mostly forgotten.

The girl I'm with now, met about 18 years ago with an instant connection. No matter how long we didn't see each other we couldn't keep our hands off each other when we met but bad timing we never got together till finally after all these years we did this year

Recently got in touch with a few people that I used to go to junior school with, apparently I made an impression on them back then.
