" I never went travelling on my own (as in a gap year) but I spent a fair amount of time working all over the UK, and I always went on holiday on my own when I wasn't with someone.. I would recommend it as then you have no one to please but yourself.. and I made so many friends, most of whom I am still in contact with all these years later | |||

I did all my travelling before I finally got married at 36... prior to that I was far too busy enjoying myself to settle down... now I'm a single mum I've got the wanderlust again and am taking my son on journeys I only ever dreamt of at his age "Well done for that We have travelled a lot all over the places but there is always some places you missed out and that is our top priority right now Passport and tooth brush are ready, no backpack thou at our age it is wheelies suitcase lol   | |||

That's the mentality I went with, but I met people who literally fucked off with just a grand and worked their way around the world as bar tenders, diving instructors etc. I got a job as a tour guide and DJ in Africa for a bit, just to extend the trip a bit.
