On a slight tangent, but still kind of related, why are Toblerones so bloody expensive in Airport Duty Free shops?

What's new? Confectionery manufacturers have been reducing the size of bars for years. They have just had the balls to announce it.

Hang on, bearing in mind the chunks used to spell "Toblerone" how have they even done it? Do they spell "Tobler1" now?

Leeds

This has actually stopped work today. And then I went out to buy a proper Toblerone. Sodding PR stunt worked on me.

Next time somebody asks me whether Brexit has really, honestly had an impact on life. Toblerones.

Hopefully Jonathan Pie should pick up on this

That's because of the EU tariff barriers on African cocoa bean grows. They have to sell unprocessed beans, if they want to sell, to EU countries who then take huge profits from processing them into chocolate. You can thank that ardent socialist Peter Mandelson for that. Just another way we empoverish African countries.

I'm going to blame the sugar tax and say it's for your own good. Less chocolate, less fatties.

Had you read the whole article you may have seen this part

"Not a result of Brexit'

A spokeswoman for Mondelez acknowledged that the foreign exchange rate was currently "not favourable", but added: "This change wasn't done as a result of Brexit."

So they've basically done what every other "chocolateer" has done, only they've been upfront about it, instead of letting us buy them and saying to ourselves "i'm sure these were bigger last time i had one "

Iceland had one in that was massive. Apparently it cost £50. Who would spend that on a bar of chocolate
