So it's ok for you to have a recipe thread but you piss all over someone else's?

I've just had one for my birthday and also looking for recipes.

I've been told cheaper cuts of meat work well as they are cooked over a long slow heat.

Like ox tail stew.

It was a joke. But obviously it's difficult to get the tone by written message.

Are you looking for vegetarian recipes? Curries? Broths?etc

Great for sausage casserole.

Checkout any recipe for butternut squash curry though. It's fantastic.

Any kind of beef stew always turns out well, you can get the cheaper cuts of meat and if cooked long and low it always turns out nice.

Or slow cooked chilli with either beef or turkey mince.

Do you have to cook the meat at a high temp first before putting it in a slow cooker ?

I've never pre-cooked any meat before it hits the crock. It's usually cooked for between 4-8 hours, depending how tender and 'fall apart' you like your meat.

I usually brown it off in a pan first

I normally just throw everything in and let it cook the whole day ...normally tastes out of this world when done in it

Thats a stew by the way

Most recipes will say cook this, sear that, brown this but everything goes in raw when I use my crock pot. I've had mine for about ten years and use it a lot at least twice a week.

I did a lovely lamb tagine type thing the other day. Was yum.

Really enjoying eastern Mediterranean food at the moment. Harissa with everything.
