So

I was at a gig last night

Spent most of it watching it through some inconsiderate twats phone screen.

Really pisses me off people spend half the show taking photos or filming it regardless of those stood behind them.

Selfish ?

I think so

Take a couple?

Wait for the DVD

Agreed. And the mad thing is. Like 99% of mobile camera usage. It'll all be deleted when they update they're phones. The concept of a dvd is to relive the event after the event. Not during. Or if you didn't manage to get here in person. Enjoy it las it happens. Not for instant playback right afterwards unless you you have acute onset short term memory problems

Blame the new dumbo generation

Its a bit sad I would rather just watch the gig not try and record it and miss out on the live action.

I do always wonder when they think they're going to watch it. It's the same with people who film fireworks displays, sure film a short clip or take a photo - but are you really going to go home and sit and rewatch that shitty shaky dimly lit 20 minute video?

I deliberately don't use my phone at events, my eyes make the memories.

It depends what it is I suppose.. but its a sign of the times.. how many disasters now have been viewed via mobile phone cameras..

I remember driving past a very nasty accident and nearly hitting some idiot walking around a motorway trying to get photos x

Btw i did film a fireworks display last night as my daughter had asked me to as she was feeling to sick to go with us x

Im sure it used to be banned from taking videos of gigs. If it isnt it should be, and mobile phones switched off. Some people are so inconsiderate

One has to wonder why they bother anyway. It's usually a clip that ends up on the book of face. It'll be a shaky, blurry, bag of shit clip. The sound will be a total mash of raaaaaaaaaaaaaaar noise because the mic's on a phone gets blown away by the PA system.

Feckin eejits, put the phone down and enjoy things through the eyes and ears.

West Midlands

I go to a lot of gigs, 3 0r 4 years ago I went to see Lady gaga in Birmingham, was unseated so we were about 15 feet from stage centre, the lady herself comes out in very skimpy lingerie, all around me a sea of people with phones, nutters, I just stood and enjoyed every second of the view (and the music of course!!!)

Off to see Saxon tonight, an older crowd so hopefully less phones in the air

1127 walnut avenue

i find the best place to avoid the phone people is near the front.. as generally once the dancing kicks off.. only a fool would try and film the gig in the middle of that.. I've seen a few try though..
