Ok I'm told I look younger than I am but it's hard to believe the % of people who are obviously lieing about thier age compared to there photos.

The odd one or 2 I can understand but I get at least 10 a week that look significantly older than they put on their profile....

Thoughts.....

lots of people lie on here, about all sorts of stuff...

lying about their age can backfire if they are actively meeting, although I've never met anyone who looked significantly older than they said they were.

I also think though, if you can get away with it and its only a couple of years, then why not go for it

If you can get away with it then find but some are so obviously lieing.

One guy I've met in a club said he was 27. His profile say 33 and he told some one else he was 31. What's the point if they can't keep it straight?

Mine is accurate. I actually wish with retrospect I'd thought a bit and not had my fab birthday as my real birthday but there you go. I have spoken to quite a few people who have freely admitted to lying about their age on here; always by shaving a few years off. More men than women. I understood their reasons and didn't have an issue with it since their fake ages were believable.

that's because many men think that once they reach the big 4 0 then that's it in respect of getting meets, so they change their DOB so they are under 40 #daftsods

Is it more women than men, or the other way round? Personally I think lying is pointless, unless you're playing a role. We are all who we are, age really doesn't change anything. Especially as others can tell you're lying either on here or in person!

15 years is one hell of a lie to make though! If I shaved off 15 years, it would be very obvious, and so would it be for most men.

Liars seem to forget their lies, then make up different ones, or can't keep track of the ones they've told. Nothing to lose by telling the truth. Honesty is the best policy

My real birthday is the same on here, there's a day in June where I'll level up to 34!

My experience I've come across guys that add a few years on. 2 years ago I shagged a guy who said he was 29 then said he was actually 24 but made a new profile to get through my filters, naughty!

I used to like being thought of older when I was going to clubs, when I was 15/16 and thought of as 19. I hit 22 and it was depressing lol. Having a shaved head now seems to age me. 33 going on 40

I've chatted to people who have divulged that they've lied mahoooosively about their age... that's up to them, for me I have a keen eye and lies like that would bother me far more than anyone's real age would

I can appreciate some people will bend the truth slightly and others will blatantly lie..

I turned 45 this year and at that point dropped off the radar of some on here, likewise reaching 40 or 50... It's that whole skip counting thing, rounding to whole and half figures..

And of course it is so easy to lie, there are no checks to validate the information you say about yourself..

If someone does lie about their age, what difference does it make if you find them attractive anyway.. If it's a vanity thing then why not indulge and allow them their foible..

I know a guy who had his 10 years younger. To be fair for the first year I knew him he could totally get away with it. When he hit 50 he had, let's say deteriorated and showing more his true age. I noticed one day he'd changed his fab age...to 37!

Disagree with the "most" part of your post. Sure some do but just as many prefer older.

I'm 48 and I look it so no point fibbing. The last three ladies I've met through here have been 31, 25, and 30 in reverse order. Most I've met (over the last 5/6 years...including previous profile) have been younger than me.

Horses for courses.....just being honest about it and aiming for your "market" seems to work best!

If someone has their age filter set to 44, I cannot message them..

I don't think I look any older now I'm 45 then when I was 44 and I know I look far younger than most of my mates of the same age.. (no paper Round in Nam for me..Dagnam was too far away to deliver papers in..)

Maybe if the filters allowed a little leeway, say +-5 years people might be less inclined to lie about their age.

I really would not be fussed if someone I found attractive outside of my desired range contacted me, after all, age is just a number.

I don't mind people lying about their age, as long as it's not too much. A year or two is fine. Met someone a few years ago who said he was 36. When I met him, he was clearly about 50. I literally just walked off. So much older than his picture suggested. He's still on here... And still has the age of 36! Haha. Some just hope the other person may think 'well we're both here, may as well shag then'... Ummm nope!

I don't lie about my age. I personally don't see the point. If someone is looking for younger than me, I'd rather not pretend to be that age, in order to meet them. I'd prefer to meet someone who's happy to meet a 39 year old

Exactly. It's a bit manipulating to think they are only lieing about their age because I'm said I'm not into guys older or younger than X.

You take the choice away from the person just to get a foot in instead of being honest about it.

I had a really lengthly messsage today about the "mistake" on my profile because it says 51. Made me smile. But im happy and confident and what if im outside some filters. Plenty are outside mine.

Never met anyone whose lied about their age or if they have theyve gotten aeay with it

a quandary, could you change my mind?

I look old compared to some, young compared to others.

I see no point in changing the number of years I've been learning about life.

Yes I am aware I fall outside many profile age range, but it is about choices.

I know one guy on here has shaved 17 years of his age.

I met him years ago for a social and he was older than me. Anyway he rejoined and messaged me and i clocked his age on his profile and it said 40 when i asked him about it he said he was 57 and he doesnt even look a young 57
