Very occasionally. I've actually turned all my filters back on and when I have time to meet again will do the contacting myself. It's not a decision I took lightly since it means I might miss out on the occasional gem but they have proved so few and far between amongst the random dross that it's the only logical step.

Yes, often have sent poorly constructed messages in an attempt to indicate interest. It works. I don't mind if people message first and don't mind being the first to do so.

If I message a woman first and she responds, it always seems like she's not really into it and she usually loses interest

The ones who are more proactive and message me first are usually the ones who are actually interested in finding out more and meeting up. I've had a fair few women make the first move, and it seems to work best

I thought that initially since I too am lazy. But sifting through messages is much more of a chore than sending a few. Disclaimer: I would not have been very happy for years with the regular squeeze if I hadn't read the message he sent me first and responded.

I was contacted by a newbie a few weeks back who had hot body pics, I actually thought it was a wind up, but we met and she was indeed hot, it didn't work out but yes, women do sometimes make the first move, not often in my experience though.

I got a message from a couple yesterday, that said simply "any face pics?" I didn't reply, as if I sent that to anyone I guarantee they wouldn't reply. Also their profile said not to bother messaging if you have no veris... so why did they message me? Their whole profile was a list of things they don't like, so I felt quite empowered by giving them the cold shoulder, especially impressive as the female was pretty hot. Bit of a digression but it's kind of related to making the first move!

I've said it many times but I've no idea why more women on here don't actively do more of the searching. Fab is a veritable smorgasbord for women. I don't understand why you'd sit back and have to wade through a load of unsuitable messages and other crap, when the Fab fruit tree's so ripened in your favour, inviting you to go out and do the picking yourself.

A bit like walking into Tesco's knowing you need to get yourself some sausage

but you choose to just wander around the store waiting and hoping for the brand of sausage you like, to grow legs and jump into your shopping trolley all by itself. If I was a woman I'd be treating Fab like it was some sort of crazy Supermarket Sweep-style trolley dash

Thankfully, some do message first. Pretty much all my Fab highlights have come from women messaging me first.

I do like sausages to make the effort though. So I know they actually fancy me and aren't just meeting cos I offered it on a plate and it's (I'm) something to do on a Friday night.

Many ladies seem to think they have a monopoly on fear of rejection, they do not & as another poster said earlier after that fear is conquered there comes "Are they only talking to me till someone shinier (I refuse to use the word better) comes along?"

Being contacted is the better experience for us partly due to what we want and who we are, too old, too young, dredds, too public etc. To the extent that we very rarely send first messages at all.

After all we only need to like one person which for us is easy but a fem has to like both of us, so we may as well wait till they make themselves known..a few do, many we'd like to, do not..

I usually find that the ladies send a wink initially, though some send a message as well.

It rarely leads anywhere but I think the numbers ratio is such that the ladies are overwhemed.

Of course (before someone says it) talking to me may also leave them underwhelmed!
