I'm not a fan of the Beatles version, but the version on Paul McCartney's "Give my regards to Broadstreet" is stunning.

Everytime I hear the beatles I know their Icons in the world of music and very few songs of theirs I,m not a lover of .. I was just old enough in the sixties to remember them and for example a song like.. ohhhhhh just look at all the lonely people durdurdurdur ohhhhhh just look at all the lonely people father mackenzie.... we have had some great groups since but the beatles seem to edge it for me and this is groups not single performers.

The Beatles, Abba, Queen, Michael Jackson to name just a few can't possibly have any songs stand out.

To me, every one of their songs are just too notch!

Anything written by lennon or Harrison, so, so many amazing songs. The evolution of the Beatles sound from rubber soul onward is unmatched 50 years on.

I was in a bar in Thailand once upon a long time ago. The waiter asked where I from. Liverpool say I. Free drinks, free drinks says he!

Then I noticed. Big screen TV with football on. Liverpool playing someone or other. The music in the background? Penny Lane. ( lived there once). The waiters shirt? Liverpool FC?

Not bad for someone who has never been to a footy match in his life.

Good hangover too the next day.
