I've just eaten a ton of the stuff however I love a bit of Stilton

i come from the land of stilton cheese and porkpies. I was weened on stilton cheese

Well it was bought in Morrisons off the deli counter and it was marketed as a mature blue Stilton the texture was firmish but creamy and the veins were good.

mmmm sounds a reasonable piece, but did the fact that it didnt say where it came from makes me think it wasnt "proper" if it was a creamy colour rather than white it was a good substitute. Most supermarkets do sell long clawson stilton, delicatescents if your lucky sell colsen basset but it will always say on it

if you just look where general cheeses are usually the stilton will have long clawson on it or next time at the deli counter ask where its from

I get to that part of the world every may for a little festival down there..I like to go off site for a proper pork pie and some civility.

I waited till I was on my way home this year though and the shop I normally stop at had run out so I never got one in the end
