So it's getting colder and people are starting to call in sick with colds and flu.who is going to be getting a flu jab soon?I might pop along to boots to get mine soon.they don't protect u 100% but it is sure sposed to help with all the germs going about.

The flu vaccine only protects against the fly virus, not germs, bacteria or the common cold. I get one every year at work and have mine this year already. All you feel is a little prick

We had our flu vaccinations a couple of weeks ago. As said above they only protect against the strain of flu that is likely to be prevalent this winter. Having had real flu twice in my life I never want to have it again so take every precaution possible.

yep, I had mine 2 weeks ago, have one every year.

Also keep a weeks supply of 500mg Amoxicillin just incase a severe cold or chest infection sets in

I had mine a couple of weeks ago. The more of the population that has it, the smaller the chances become for anyone to get the infection.

If you caught flu you'd be having a few weeks off work.

I have had mine. I have it every year. I'm asthmatic and having had flu a few times in the past i want to avoid getting it again. Also its helps prevent other people getting flu as i won't be passing it on to them.

I suffer badly with chest infections as it is so want to avoid flu at all costs.

My work place encourages all staff to have the flu vacination and will pay for it for people who don't get it for free.

Have mine at work, proper flu is one of the biggest killers worldwide every year, I had it once and it's horrific, you don't get "a touch of flu" or a couple of days off that's a cold, a bit of a pain but nothing like real flu. The jab is not live virus sonyou can't get flu from it, it no longer has mercury in etc etc like all these social media rumours. Unless you have a reaction to something in it I can't see why folk wouldn't have it.

It's about 50 to 60% effective tho, but last year the virus mutated slightly so was only about 30% effective hence we had the biggest rise in death rates for many years apparently, makes you think

Off the grid

We didn't last year and all of us got flu, kids included.

One of my kids couldn't walk for a few days from it. It's the most horrific, horrific illness. Never skipping the jabs again.

its awful isn't it. When people say "I've got flu but I'm struggling on" I always smile to myself and think "you really haven't got flu"

If you can have it I encourage you to do it. If enough people get it, herd immunity would reduce the number of infections and deaths.

Don't hope for the flu to take sick days - just take them.
