car colours

i wonder why car colours are so drab?

Surely people have favourite colours like pink, purple, orange, yellow, vivid green and bright blue so why do we not have our cars sprayed these cheerful colours?

I understand there will be some exceptions like i see mazda and ford (only two that i know of - im sure there are others) who have a gorgeous green and blue in their ranges.

Id love to see a nice fuschia pink or lilac car driving around :D

Bright colours show up dirt so not practical.

Mind, the dirtiest bastard I ever drove was black.

I know its not magic but saw this car with paint that made the car orange, then you look at it from another angle and it was purple... clever!

you can pick any colour you want when buying your car, but different makes will have standard colours like black and silver, to op for say blue might cost you an extra £1000 on top of your bill, its like some models of the corsa it costs £1000 extra to get it in desiel

A lot of it is down to teh resale value of teh car, a car in a standard manufacturer colour is always going to fetch a better [price than one painted in a none standard colour

its acc called flip paint, its all to do with liquid crystals in the paint to give it the affect of 'two' colours. you can find liquid crystals in most digital house hold stutt like tv's laptops etc

The guy with the right answer! Vibrant colours can be fun but your resale value is low. Pick a black, silver or other metallic and it retains a higher value than that of a bright, pink or pale beige car. Why pay £1000 more for a personal paint job and then sell it later for £1000 less than a standard popular colour.

My pal had her mini sprayed bright pink to match her clothes, she took a dress to the guys who were spraying her car to make sure they had the exact colour match.

Well as long as you wipe with the baby wipes before you get in the sidecar. I'm taking Gran shopping tomorrow and I don't want her asking about weird stains.
