supermarkets say been best harvest for around 20 years...mine only came onto flower last week...buggas are cheating!

mine too are only just flowering, and no sign of actual strawberrys, the supermarket ones probably come from some other country, where it's been warmer, that said i've got gazillions of budding pears (conference) on my tree this year.

I just came back from the supermarket to get some strawberries and there were none there

Had to make do with the last carton of squashed raspberries instead

don't you just love it when your children give you a list of ingredients they need for school the next day at 8 at night

They have been saying crop so good and swet that buying more fom UK than Spain so will be sweeter and cheaper.....toe rags am sticking to growing my own fruit and veg...I saw potatoes at just under £4 kg today!

Most strawberries ready at this time of year have to have been forced by greenhouse growth initally... My other half is in Bulgaria, and even his strawberries aren't ready yet.

I have strawberries already on my plants, although still tiny and green but in about 2/3 weeks will be enjoying with cream

we've picked 3 so far, well when i say we i mean mrs Surrey!

mind you they did overwinter in the greenhouse, took them out of the ground and put them in planters last year
