Seems like lots of posts get accused of being "look at me" posts.

Is that just something that's happened a lot and people are more conscious of?

Is there anything wrong with people occasionally wanting a bit of a boost?

And the people posting these comments usually do it because they are pissued off the attention is being diverted away from them or someone they are fawning over.

And inevitably there is also a crossover between those posting these sort of comments and those posting inane popcorn posts on other threads. The intention is exactly the same

Unfortunately too many egos have been stroked on this site, leading to some who think they are the thread sentinels. Those few that think their insight or views mean more than others. I completely agree with the above poster about the psychological bullying that goes on in some threads. Personally I like confidence in a person, but I really dislike anyone who's ego is over inflated.

I think posts fall into a few categories on here and not all of them are a look at me. Sometimes they are just musings, no more. I think where they get painful to watch are where they're a subtle look at me attempt that isn't as subtle as they thought and the hordes descend. If I wanted attention then I'd be far better off updating my status, uploading a new pic or turning my filters off rather than relying on the forum for approbation. Fab is more than a few posts on an area of the site hardly anyone ventures into and that's probably why I still post; because it has nothing to do with the bulk of my fab life and meets. Posting certainly doesn't get anyone to look at me (now fab have added that handy counter to the top of the homepage that is an absolute statistical fact).
