I have a question about the blocking function on the site:

If I block a user, are any of the threads they create or posts they make in existing forum threads blocked as well?

Nope, if you block someone's profile, it has nothing to do with the forums

All it means is that they can't view your profile, and you can't view theirs.

Yeah I think they should introduce a forum blocking feature, but I doubt it

I think they could also have a forum link on profiles, to see which forums users have posted in, and whether some of the opinions expressed contradict their profile?

eg: profile says 'open minded' then user has 9 forum posts expressing distaste at other people's sexual preferences or practices.

Twas a joke my end. That's what the forums are for in a way, getting to have a sneaky peek at other users whom we might not usually come across.

They do. It's the green arrow, next to the username. I don't understand the blocking mentality in the forums though. You just have to ignore their comments, and not engage with them. That's what I do, i f I don't like someone on the forums, after a previous run in .

I replied on a thread about something that started innocuously enough, then a user posted something akin to boasting about sexually exploiting someone. He's posted other odious things in other threads, so I was hoping if I blocked him, I'd not see such things in future.

You make a fair point though, thanks.

I am still in shock that he thought it an OK story to tell, and tagging the 'cut of proceeds', made his actions far more suspect and worrying.

Fair points made and taken on board.

Yes, assuming I was being told that story in person, I most definitely would question his reasoning behind;

A. Why he thought that was OK then?

B. Why he is still talking about it in such a jocular fashion now?

"Nope, if you block someone's profile, it has nothing to do with the forums

Shame, given some of the things I've read tonight!

You do realise I'm going to press the green tick next your username, just to be nosy? Haha

The only person who's replied to him in the past few hours is me!

It's the barracks thread. Take a look babe. Completely shocking. Now I understand why the OP talked about blocking.

I was shocked that he'd bragged about selling on condoms he has from the NHS, but that! Awful...

OK fella what he said over there he is paying the price for in that post and rightly so .

You had your say in that post about his comment why are you now in here slating him off some more ....?

That can be seen as bullying fella trying to turn others again another .

Yes you haven't named him but come on you have a problem with him and his post fine block him and move on no doubt like lots of others have done in that forum post .

No need to bring up his past history in other forum posts ask yourself this fella would you face him down in the flesh if he told such a story because trust me I would but then again I don't act any differently on here than I do in the real world except For the fact I'm milder on here because what someone writes could just be a tall story for all I know .

Fair points made and taken on board.

Yes, assuming I was being told that story in person, I most definitely would question his reasoning behind;

A. Why he thought that was OK then?

B. Why he is still talking about it in such a jocular fashion now?"

The only reason I haven't commented in that other post is because it has now become a shit fest of kicking that silky man and his post no need for me to get involved as others have rightly said all that needs to be said about his post .

Like I said your action smack of trying to form a clique against the fella to bully by peer pressure .

I'm sure that was not your intent well I hope not but come on let it go because like I said for all we know until he tries to defend his actions it could just be a tall story designed to impress that back fired big time .

That was not my intention at all. I'm relatively new to the forum, certainly not in a clique and certainly not wishing to form one.

I proposed the question because I wanted to know whether I'd have to see any more of a persons posts after I'd blocked them. Thats it.

Furthermore, I'd had a bit of a disagreement about the prejudicial comments made about bi/bi-curious men on here in the week, which was also in my mind when I created the post.

Please refrain from making assumptions about whom I like or dislike. Have I said that anywhere? No. I have said I was concerned about what he's said he's done. That is not he same as disliking someone. My dog shots on the rug in the bathroom, I do not like that, but I love my dog.

If you read my opening post, I used a vague reference, citing someone who may say they are open-minded but post here in a contrary fashion. I didn't even introduce the explanation post until later on, in order to clarify to another contributor something that I had found to be disquieting to me.

I have already told you that I have takeb on board the points you originally made. I've answered follow up points, but you are continuing on.
