My children used to beg me not to put on my "work" voice when I went to the open evenings.

I do speak differently when I'm at home, or talking to my family, less formal and "fluffy" - wouldn't be appropriate for me to address my colleagues as "Pookie!"

Both Kate and I have Black Country accents, but our 2 sons who were both bought up in Cornwall, speak like news readers

When we visit friends and family they usually ask us why we've got posh kids

I spent all my life making sure that my son didnt have a Leicester accent. He had submucus cleft palete when he was born so had a speech problem, he went to speech therapy and with my help he was great. Since he moved back over there hes bloody developed a leicester accent grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I love to hear regional accents There are two old boys in our local pub who are both Cornish and we are facinated how they communicate with each other. Their conversation just sounds like two "spotty dogs" just yapping at each other, it's fucking hilarious but intriguing at the same time
