"I question your idea of what a classic film is OP. Now Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a classical movie, ignoring Dick Van Dykes' cockney accent obviously. " Was he supposed to be a Cuckney in that? Thought that was Mary Poppins?

Thought that was Mary Poppins? " You're right. He was American in Chitty. He refused to star in it if he was asked to do an English accent as he got so much abuse for playing Cockney Bert. Apparently the voice coach he used in Mary Poppins was an Irish chap

"How young are they? My daughter is 7 and she loves drop dead Fred, nightmare before Christmas, Descendants, Maleficent " SNOT FACE! It doesn't matter how old you are, it's drop dead Fred. It was my favourite film as a child and my son loves it too. Obviously there's Annie and Oliver Twist to add to that, probably some more too, but these ones stand out.

"Alien. Aliens. The running man. Commando. Terminator. The howling. The hellraiser films..All on my weekly circulation as a kid I watched IT and poltergeist as a kid!" IT was a favourite of my mates so that got some viewing too.. I liked one of the poltergeist movies..The one set in the skyscraper..I forget which one that was now I prefered horror and action over the films aimed at my age group back then..never held much truck with the Disney type and 'happy happy joy joy it's all great in the end' films really, they sort of bored me. I wanted demons and violence and blood
