What's the song or album you can turn to for that instant pick-me-up? What songs are your audio Prozac?

I was feeling a bit low yesterday. Monday blues and the thought of another dire shift at work...the usual shite. Anyway, I thought what tunes can I put on to pull me out of the gloom? Grabbed The Charlatans self-titled album from 1995. Instantly a couple of tracks from that album and I'm back to my foot tapping, bum wiggling best and all is good with the world again!

I find that I need to try and sympathise with my mood rather than attempt to alter it by playing something overly uplifting - something bittersweet does the trick. Funeral by Arcade Fire is probably my go-to.

Sometimes the naffest of tunes can be the most uplifting (not that I'm saying Footloose is naff of course )

That is true. Some tunes just hit the right spot, depending on your mood. They don't necessarily have to be uplifting in nature.

That's a tough quesion. I like different genres of music, and from each genre I have my go-to music. But I find that choose according to how much energy I have, and the circumstances.

I listen to all sorts of music. I wake up to Classic FM, blast funky tunes in my car, listen to ska, motown and Northern Soul when I'm cooking and go to sleep to the sound of whales and relaxing sounds.

Music is in my life every single day and it definitely lifts my mood at times

I'm totally fine, thank you. Music is definitely my drug. I couldn't live without it. I just found it quite amazing how you can be instantly lifted by a few songs. Music is a very powerful medium. It's all about picking the right song for the mood you're in.

When I'm feeling low I play mellow songs like I think it's gonna rain today -Bette Midler, or The first time ever I saw your face -Celine Dion.

I put on happy music if I'm cooking or cleaning.
