I'm wondering how people estimate the M:F ratio here?

If I get bored enough I'm might count up the number of male to females on various threads on the forums.

But does anyone think the forums are representative of the Fab population?

I believe it was researched that men are statistically more likely to participate in internet forums.

I've not estimated the full site. But if you narrow the search radius to say 5 miles.

And limit the age range to say 5 years.

Search as a man and you usually get about 5-9 matches.

Search as a woman and you get 100-300+ matches.

That's far too clever for me. And simple. It's why I didn't think of it.

Do we think there are fake female profiles on the site though?

Because I'm not sure I see loads more men than women posting on the forums? Or am I imagining things?

I get a ratio of about 7:1 in my area for men who want to meet women, and women who want to meet men.

all I know,is it,s bloody difficult to get a reply from a woman as she receives hundreds of messages a day,and trying to make yours stand out,is becoming really difficult against the rest

Also men seem to be more prolific when it comes to messaging, most women I know on fab never ever send out an initial message.

They don't need to as they receive 100s a day

When we did it ages ago we just did single men to single women and it came at about 10/1. It wasnt a scientific study just based on areas

Can't help calculate the fakes but if you limit it to those with meeting verified.

Women, age 30 to 33

Who want to meet a man

(have a verified meet) and (verified genuine)

Within 5 miles of ??! = 21. Only 10 active in the last month.

Men, age 30 to 33

Who want to meet a woman

(have a verified meet) and (verified genuine)

Within 5 miles of ?? = 194. Only 157 active in the last month.

So that 15-1 for that age range.

Perhaps 15 new messages if I'm active on the forums during the day? 4 or 5 if I'm mostly offline. Sometimes less.

Good idea. Searching for a woman age between 36-41 with a 5 mile radius 14. A man 300+!!!!

We get stressed out if we get more than 4 or 5 messages a day, so can't imagine getting that many. Just found a message from a few weeks ago that we hadn't replied to, oops.

Within 5 miles of us, age 30 (a wider age and the men go over 300) we get 10:227:14:28 M looking for F:F looking for M:MF looking for M:MF looking for F. So basically 23 women for every man here.

Years ago I did a count of all the new members who joined, over a 2 hour period I think it was, and the ratios were roughly 2 couples for every female, and 2 males for every couple, so basically 1/2/4.

Of course, that was just one isolated test and so wouldn't be accurate for the members already joined, but does give an idea of how little value a single male has to the swinging scene.

178 men to 29 women near me - 15 year age range, verified by at least one meet ( out most fakes) but didn't look at how many were not online for over a month. 6-1 not a bad ratio, you guys need to move to the heathrow area!

I've had messages from 15 different men in the last five hours. When I reply to one or two obviously that means a lot more messages.

My friends on here and the amount of messages is crazy.

It makes you wonder how like does at mean theres thousands of men within a certain radius of her or more like 20 or 30 percent of the men on the whole site within a 50 mile radius has sent her a message it dosent add up how the hell can you get so many men messaging you

Loads have stated, sex right now with anyone whos game? ( posts status an hour later.. In house alone bored what to do.. ) there needs to be a filter on bullshit artists lol no good/ looking male can get a reply so i put that down to some having the fear of not actually wanting to meet for sex straight away. Whata be problem. We safe we post here people know us we have photos were real..

It's absolutely not in some cases. I've got a couple of female friends on here and the number of messages can jump 15-20 in the time it takes to refresh the page. One had 800 in the space of a couple of hours! And she's no tease.

no idea on the ratio but I do often wonder about the amount of fake female profiles. One evening I saw someone going through the alphabet with new single female profiles in the area along the lines of:

Arty Anna

Beauty Beth

Cockslut caz

Dirty Debbie

Etc etc

Disclaimer: the above names are not real profile names to my knowledge and are simply an example.

System's broke innit

Men believe the notion that it's a numbers game, that they have to send 200 messages in order to ensure they get one reply. As a result the women get swamped and bulk delete. So the men bang out more messages of ever lower quality as there's no point beautifully hand crafting a message tailored to a profile if it will just be deleted unread. The only solution is for men to stop messaging, women just delete what they do get, and hunt us down for themselves whilst we watch the telly

No idea on the numbers ... Doesn't really matter how many if none are what you're seeking ..

There was a stat from admin a while ago that said less than 1% of the sites users posted in the forums, there are many who look / lurk without posting
