Chicken soup is serious stuff.

I like to put some mellow music on while I make mine.

I made some yesterday with skinned and trimmed chicken thighs, carrot, onion, celery, red lentils, potatoes and some mange tout thrown in at the end.

I don't usually use potatoes but my son wanted some, for a change.

I don't use salt, just pepper.

...I put potatoes in as when you mash them with the veg it makes it a bit thicker

My great nan was called nanny chicken soup....she always had a pan of chicken soup on the stove.

carrots, onion, celery, swede, stock, chicken wings and drumsticks (skin on) and vermicelli....although its kind of hard to find round here for some reason).

i like to sprinkle some curry powder on top of mine before i eat it

I add shredded chicken breast, garlic puree, onions, mushrooms & peas/ corn and serve over boiled rice....chicken soup is the Bollox...so many uses.

I used baby new potatoes as they usually stay solid and I can pick them out. However, yesterday they were cooking for so long most of them disintegrated and my soup went white. It was a bit grainy but tasted lovely.
