not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

So the appeal is out and about raising funds ...

Have they changed the poppys this year

Where's the pins gone? and the plastic stems ..it's sticky tape

I wear my poppy with pride ..unfortunately it's Not gonna stick to my work clothes

why they can't just make them like a badge i will never know lol the pins were rubbish but the tape is rubbisher

we have them on sale at work...will buy one when i am next in.

I saw the stick on ones last year & noticed ppl seemed to lose them more than the traditional poppys. I have started to buy the enamel ones - though they cost more they fasten more securely so I don't lose it!!

I always bought the one with a plastic stem.. I could poke the stem through a button hole, these sticky taped one's would need super glue to stick to me

If anyone is close enough to visit the poppy display at Caernarfon castle then it's worth it, you need to book your tickets first but they are free tickets Mrs blue eyes

Not meeting

We have various forms of poppy as my son needs them for different occasions with army cadets. I wear a diamanté one for remembrance events & a pin one on my coat & just put money in the collection tubs every year

Most sellers will have a couple of types of poppy for sale the standard one with stem and pin or the stick on type , or you can buy the enamel type with this years date on it.

There are also some limited edition ones for the Somme this year.

If people are looking to buy them please use a Legion seller and not some sneaky buggers from auction sites that buy them from us and bump the price up via auction !

I noticed the other day a well known DIY shop selling metal bird feeder type poppies but when you read the leaflet attached the Legion get about 50p from the sale of each one, The whole thing looks like it cost about £1 to make nice way to jump on the bandwagon !

I wear the wrist band with pride my dad died in Northern Ireland and I never got to know him its a time to reflect on the past and remember how many brave souls were lost.

Crystal, crochet and some old designed ones. I've also ordered a new somme one from the brl website.

While I may "reuse"

I always donate as well and wear with pride.

If they did this you could end up with a lot of people RE-using them, if they're delicate and easy to lose you buy one each year...

I always buy a poppy and Wear with immense pride. My grandad was pivotal in WW2 and British Legion housed him in his later days in some of their sheltered accommodation.

I buy the small pin badge and my girls but the kids rubber wrist bands and get into the whole idea of saying thank you to soldiers. They have the legion at school every year telling them the meaning and they love hearing war stories

This!! Infuriates me every time I see various types of Poppy pin badges (usually with a band or football club connection) being sold on auction sites for the sellers personal gain. Sure they might say £1 from the sale (usually about £4 plus postage) goes to the Royal British Legion but (a) does it really? and (b) What happens to the other £3 odd (even after you take a little off for costs!!)?

Blatant profiteering off the RBL/Poppy name which is bloody disrespectful you ask me!!

I usually end up losing them, and so buy a new one when I go in to work, (we sell them for the appeal).

It is a shame that they don't stay on for long, but I don't begrudge having to buy more, because it's for a good cause.
