To compliment, or not to compliment..

I was at a local Morrison's today, and i notice a lady in the most amazing pair of high heels, very high platforms with an incredibly thin stiletto heel. You know when your eye catches something, and you think 'WOW !'. She was dressed smart casual style, lovely top, nice jeans etc, and the heels just stood out.

Part of me wanted to compliment her on her fabulous shoes, however nerves set in, and i decided not to, mostly because i wasnt sure how a simple compliment would be received.

Have some of you folks received compliments on your attire or appearance, how did you take it?

I don't regularly receive compliments, but I'd always encourage people to give them!

I had a compliment about my shoes this week and it made me smile all day.

Next time just do it. Ladies always love shoe compliments

It's always nice to receive a compliment, you never know who needs a reason to smile... can brighten someone's whole day up.

This

I compliment people when out and about, but only when I genuinely mean it. Most times, it goes down well and makes someone smile.

I have had strangers compliment me when wearing my vintage style dresses.

I think compliments are welcome when they are not letchy

Off the grid

I'm thinking it's better to compliment on shoes/clothes/nails or something, rather than physical appearance.

I think that makes it less letchy.

I think a compliment about a dress or shoes is OK, and similarly hair or nails. Eyes are pushing it and from experience, "nice tits/arse" has potential for trouble.

Everyone loves a non pervy compliment!

And I quite like the pervy ones too in the right context

I (A) will always compliment when I consider it to be apt and the responses are genuinely commensurate.......clearly "nice tits" is not applicable.
