A man may have cooked and eaten parts of a police officer after strangling him in his flat, a court has heard.

Stefano Brizzi is accused of murdering PC George Semple, 59, who he met on the dating app Grindr, before attempting to dispose of the body in an acid bath.

The Old Bailey heard Mr Semple's DNA was found on the blade of a blender, cooking pot and other items in the defendant's kitchen.

Mr Brizzi, 50, from Southwark, south London, denies murder.

such a crazy sad world we live in

Nah! The rest of the planet is sanitised. The lambs frolic happily with wolves, women walk around naked unmolested, everyone sits around singing kumbia but in London...Godless, scary place...

More people means more chances for things to happen but as said earlier it could occur anywhere

There was one local to me. The guy went on a gay sex site looking for meets. Only thing was he was anti gay and wanted to really do harm.

However sadly he ended up meeting a really down to earth guy who would help anyone.

Ended up torturing him sexually for 2 days along with beating him to the extent he died with internal injuries.

Some sick puppies about in this day and age.

True, I think there'll be plenty of gay coppers on Grindr sneaking off for a shag paid for by the tax payer.

There are indeed. It wasn't that long ago (historically speaking) that it was almost socially acceptable to beat up homosexuals and sometimes worse. There are countries in Africa where it's a crime worse than murder and carries the death penalty. A chap I knew that was gay got a good hiding for it and reported it to the police. Sergeant at the station said 'fuck off out of here or you'll get a lot worse'!

Now the world is so pc that the ever shrinking community that is heterosexual, almost have to apologise for it.

The world is full of weird people just because some nutter decided to become a zombie for the day does not mean that area is scary, was the same said when the Yorkshire ripper was about. There is a local fruit loop in every area some are unhinged enough to take it further.Certain areas of Birmingham are dangerous but I still have to go there you cant live in fear because of one or two nutters. I had a gun pulled on me in London 25 years ago I walked into the wrong pub in cricklewood but hey ho I'm still here it didn't put me off going to London.

And I'm sure there will be plenty of straight ones on tinder or even here, sneaking off for a shag on tax payers time... Doesn't make what happened to him any more acceptable.

London is an amazing place. Coming from the North of England, I was brought up to believe in this absolutely bull shit north/south divide. True Londoners, born and bred (can see the fab race police sporting a big bulge in their trousers now) have showed us nothing but kindness and respect when we visit regularly for work related matters. If anything, when our clients visit us in the North, they have very mixed reviews about levels of service and general friendliness. You'll get dicks from every corner of the globe and there are many many places in the U.K. that would learn a lot from our friends in the Capital. To all the whingers out there, ask yourself why it's one of the most popular places to visit on the planet. Can you say the same about where you live?

You dont say??? But perhaps I need to make it clearer, to the OP, why is London relevant here ... why not say England or the street where this happened? Seems like there is a lot of London bashing going on here these days

You like it so why does it matter if someone else doesnt, hasnt he got a right to have his opinion. No offence.

He doesn't say he doesn't like London, does he? The comment is general and I am not denying his right to have an opinion. As its a discussion forum, I presume I am also allowed to air mine?

The title of his post says, Scarey place London. And you said why mention its London and that there seems to be a lot of London bashing on here lately, which i havnt noticed by the way. I just assumed when he said London was a scarey place that he didnt like it.

Trying the politics forum to see all the London bashing. I think its an extension of the north south divide, but I didn't realise how bad it was out there. Like I said, this was one house in one street in London so why tar the whole of London?

I like walking around London at night.

It's that busy, bustling and alive that I feel far safer than walking around a dark, quiet street.
