Zebra crossing etiquette

Have these road crosser forgot their manners where you are from as well???

Twice today stopped, not so much as nod. Lol

What ever next ?

The worst are those that press the button then look at the road see it's empty and.... Cross... You scumbags!.

I totally know what you mean but you HAVE to stop so aren't really doing them a favour by obeying the law.

Surely zebra crossings should only be for the young, elderly and disabled. The rest of us should just be made to take our chances and dodge the traffic. I'm learning to drive and when I told my instructor that I didn't think I should stop to let a twenty something guy cross the road he near had a fit. I stand by my opinion though and might refuse to stop on a matter of principle (obviously after I've passed my test)

I agree with this we are developing a society to have no common sense lol I have seen people walk out there way to find a crossing

Personally I like to use a crossing and not dodge traffic!! Lol x

I don't know if it's an area thing, when I lived in kent it was the done thing to say thanks (remember you don't HAVE to say thank you) but here, people look at me like I'm mad to acknowledge they've stopped!

The one time I never said thank you when I was in herne bay and the driver (in a convertible) shouted at me (my mind was elsewhere) so ever since then I always make sure I nod, throw my hand up or something

I believe in old fashioned chivalry and manners. So much so that I go out of my way to put my head in the infra red beam to open automatic doors for ladies and the elderly
