Durham Tees

I just found some lasagne pasta sheets at the back of the cupboard, use by May 2007.

Who is up for an Italian night then?

Wow! That's old. I always buy tins as an emergency option, but every time it comes round to harvest assembly most end up in there, unless out of date and there were about three things this year. I don't know why I bother buying them.

I tend to go through my cupboards every few months just to make sure I don't have any nasty surprises lurking in there

A bottle of amaretto, bought it not long after I moved in and it's never been taken out for ages

I saw something about a 'Reverse Advent Calendar' the other day which looked like a nice idea. Every day in December you put a tin aside until you have a box full to give to a charity, food bank or whatever on Christmas Eve. I missed Harvest so I might do that this year.

We had a clear out of stuff when we did our kitchen, but I didn't have the heart to throw away the Cream of Tartar (Apr 02) or the Gravy Browning (which pre-dates BBE dates )

At the rate we use them, I'll be passing them on to the grandkids

Food cupboard?

Do you mean the drawer with the takeaway menus in it?

Cleared all mine when I got my new kitchen, back in the summer.

The oldest thing would still have a year left on its sell by date. Probably my herbs and spices.

Clearing out my old cupboards I found stuff I'd left behind when I moved out, dated 2009.

They are probably antiques now.

I would say G's hands as she reaches in to get something to cook for my dinner

If she reads this "Please dont hurt me - its just a joke. I know you never go in the cupboard because the menus are on the fridge".

You had best use it up. Shame to waste it

I've looked and found a packet of cornflower dating back to 2012.

Can't see any weevils playing in it so I'm sure it will be just fine

When we go to my mum's we have a sort of competition to find what's out of date this time! She knows and we all laugh about it though. She even tries to catch us out by chucking stuff herself before we arrive but I don't think we've been beaten yet.

I have no idea. I tend to purge the cupboards periodically so it's not bad.
