Hi everybody. My son who is over 16 was going to seed rate at the O2 Arena at the end of January. He's going with a friend who two weeks later turns 16.

I was looking at the website for him and have just found that under sixteens can not have access to the standing only tickets which is what they have.

Does anybody know if they are very strict on this and if he's likely to be checked for ID.

I understand about taking a small child in as they may be crushed but these are two hardy teenage boys.

No, they are too busy checking people's bags for food and drink to worry about age.

The door staff really don't care, they are trying to cram thousands of people through the few doors so they can make them part with as much cash as possible for the overpriced drinks and food.

Have never seen anyone being age checked when I've been there for gigs (which is several times down the years) that said I've always gone with adults so wouldn't necessarily be looking for that sort of thing. Guess it may come down to if they "look" over 16 and if they do then they should be fine.

It may also vary from gig to gig there as I'm pretty sure gigs I've been at have been over 14s in the standing area but must be accompanied by an adult.

Thank you so much everybody. I do believe that it is always over 16 only in the standing area, but what if it is over 16 and one of them will be 16 a week later and they're both look it, hopefully it will be alright for them .
