Invite double or treble the number you can imagine yourself fucking as loads of guys will say they will arrive but they won't and make sure you have one trusted guy who will look after you and the house etc you are having it at as you will be too busy servicing guy's to worry about everything else

Invite at least 5 times more than you need as you will always get those that don't turn up despite their promise that they will.

I arranged one for the Mrs last year, invited 8, all confirmed they would be there, only one guy showed up and he was a bit of a disappointment in the end.

It's like that for socials too, loads of interest saying they want to go but in the end most don't show.

Oh yes really keen then for reasons you never find out about they don't show, a member organised a social before Xmas last year, only myself the Mrs, another couple and a single guy turned up, despite there being loads of interest and people saying they'd be there

Agree about the numbers invited vs actual attendees.

A club venue is a good option, so that others there can stand in for no shows.

Have people responsible for you and your wellbeing. Possibly someone to shepherd the guys around and recruit others, if they know your tastes well. My experience is that many can talk but getting them to perform in a group is scary for their poor minds. Thus experienced guys are a more reliable bet.

Suggest it to your regular fbs, so that they can add some order to things.

If I was just starting out, I'd visit a club and rustle up some guys, so that I could get a feel for how many I'd possibly like and any things that you'd like differently, when you get your major event going.

thanks Sophie unfortunately no clubs bear me otherwise I'd go that route xx
