I thought the forums were for light hearted discussion, but some of the comments I have seen tonight have made me question how are they still able to comment, bans have been given for less.

No it's not offended me, but that's what it's all seems to be about tonight. If something offends you surely you can just ignore it or have an adult discussion about it, like a debate? Everyone has different perspectives and beliefs.

I've never seen so much swearing and aggressiveness in the forums.

Cheer up people, aren't we all here for just a little extra fun and to chat with likeminded people?

Jelly is generally gelatine based, a meat by product. You can get vegan jelly, but it's not as good.

I agree wholeheartedly. Sadly someone on here has decided that public photos are fair game and it's not enough to slight me with thinly veiled insults. So in the spirit of 'fun' have set up a profile in my locality with my pictures mixed with lurid pictures of naked fat genitals and a profile full of filth and offers to do pretty much anything to anyone, anytime.

So thanks ladies. I use that term loosely. MrsB is out.

It is a full moon tonight and there is a noticeable trend towards narkier threads on the forum at the full moon.

I always want to howl at the moon and get hornier than usual. Sadly, the full moon rarely coincides with my ability to have legitimate reason to howl with pleasure.

I highly recommend the Waitrose ones with cherries in the bottom. The raspberry one isn't quite right. At M&S I'd recommend the Royale as that has sponge and cream to go with the jelly all in one lovely delicious pot. (See 'Fat' thread for my post on why I am fat. )

It's worse than that, I checked, it's pork gelatine, so now I've offended two major religions too

On the plus side, at least I've finally united the Jews and Muslims by providing them with a common enemy, so some good has come of it.

It is anyway. It's sad news for those who know about your neighbour's husband but people close to someone else are dying all time. There are hundreds dying on boats right now. Of course all of this is insignificant. Knowing that won't stop it.

Inexplicable hissy fits and irrational behaviour. Running around flapping their arms at moths and spiders. You know the sort of thing.

Oh, I'm not affected then. That's upsetting

I thin it's time for bed. I was thinking you meant they missed Oxford dictionary out.

I don't know why I admit some things, it just gives those I know stuff to laugh at.

"It's a full moon tonight.

Ooh I just looked at the moon... I don't know whether you're right or not and I'm not going to look it up, but it is pretty round

It is a full moon tonight and there is a noticeable trend towards narkier threads on the forum at the full moon.

I always want to howl at the moon and get hornier than usual. Sadly, the full moon rarely coincides with my ability to have legitimate reason to howl with pleasure.

"

Just checking, does the mood go when the moon does? It's still out at the minute and I'm not sure I'll be able to put up with people in person whose mood has changed due to it.

Agree with that. It's far more easier to ignore/not get involved on here, in person the people are there in front of you and no block button to remove them.

Do you think that is because when things are written they can be perceived differently to how they are meant? Whereas when speaking to someone you can support words with expression and gesture.

I often find that to be the case, I'm quite witty and my humour is mostly lost via text.

Also, if you don't litter your post with emoji's after every sentence you're considered rude, aggressive, horrible etc.

Don't get me wrong, it was a valid point if near the mark anyway. This guy has become annoying but on forum I just don't take the bait and make it clear with fishing emoji that he is trying to bait me - and I won't bite lol

There was some intellect within the thread, however some can't handle when "challenged" on the substance of their initial thoughts.

Still, it makes for an interesting read imo.

Why do you think anything to do with the moon is Lunar, and a term for someone affected by the moon is called a Lunatic

The forum isn't always fluffy and light and I doubt anyone would want them to be totally but sometimes when it does kick off people are best reading the forum summary and logging off. I will paste it to the bottom of this thread.

Also, can people please remember that mods sometimes sleep, work, eat etc so may not be online to read things as they are posted. If you think a mod has missed something please report it rather than attack what they do on the forum as that is against forum rules.

If you have specific mod feedback send it to Admin from the contact button, they read every contact and trust me, they will speak to the mod if needed.

In summary: If you treat other people with respect, you can't go far wrong. Don't forget that the forums are meant to be fun, if you find yourself fuming and writing long angry messages you're probably best taking a break from it.

There are too many snide underhand remarks made that without knowing the background, make it impossible for a mod to see the nastiness behind them and therefore pointless to report. By logging off, you allow the perpetrator to feel they've won.

A long way to solving this would be to hide the posts on the forums from people you've blocked.

So in the spirit of 'fun' have set up a profile in my locality with my pictures mixed with lurid pictures of naked fat genitals and a profile full of filth and offers to do pretty much anything to anyone, anytime.

So thanks ladies. I use that term loosely. MrsB is out.

Did you report it?

Thanks Ruggers. I'm told it's gone now. I couldn't see the profile to report it as I was blocked but someone kindly assisted on my behalf. Drama over. "

Aahh I understand the hidden profile now. I thought you were another on the way out.

I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave . (It doesn't quite work on a forum does it?)

"There are too many snide underhand remarks made that without knowing the background, make it impossible for a mod to see the nastiness behind them and therefore pointless to report. By logging off, you allow the perpetrator to feel they've won.

A long way to solving this would be to hide the posts on the forums from people you've blocked. "

Very true. But if I had been blocked I would stay away from said persons post. But sometimes it's the comments on other people's posts that ruin it for some. I'm sure it's been covered, but why are you allowed to see blocked people's posts/comments? You can't in the chat rooms.

Great idea, but there'd be nothing for us all to read.

Yes, and you're right about staying away from their posts. However, when they insist on making snide comments in reply to threads you've started, it's all the more difficult, but even so, yes, I, for one, should still ignore them.

There are far too many people on here who just post sarcastic comments just to try and make themselves look cool..

There is a thread up ATM about hair colour which is obviously tongue in cheek but you would think the OP had accused everyone of eating their own babies!! People need to lighten the fuck up...

I do notice also, that if one gets away with it, the rest of the mob follow suit and the next thing you know .. it has descended into chaos and the jist of the thread is lost..

It is very sad, and childish that the forums should end up like this

Yes the level of passive-agression is high at times, and it's something us Brits are good at. It's easier to deal with someone when they're being directly confrontational.

I suspect we're on the same wavelength. Try not to see it as them winning if you're being the bigger person and moving away from it.

And I'm not sure hiding posts from blocked people would work, it would possibly make the forums unworkable.

Yes, I thought that it could make threads difficult to read. However, many other forums do this and it seems to work ok for them. Also, with some you have the option to unhide messages to read them without unblocking the person.

You are right, as a lot is dressed up as "banter" or tongue in cheek" when challenged then it is harder for other people including mods to know whether it is or not.

The best thing to do is quote the person and ask them to ignore your posts and it will let the mods know that it isn't banter. They can then deal with it if it carries on.

If a mod misses it then still report saying why you are reporting and it will be watched

some of us are really blunt though, and it's worth it.

BBcode forums they automatically hide blocked peoples posts and can give the option to look at the post if you really think it's necesaary to follow the thread.

i'd like the blocking on forums coz i posted in someones thread who i had blocked coz they were nasty to me, and i didn't recognise them then i got pissed off about doing that when i did realise who they were.

Just to clarify this, people disagreeing with one another is allowed and normal and people have to expect this.

"

Why do you think anything to do with the moon is Lunar, and a term for someone affected by the moon is called a Lunatic

Well I didn't know that a lunatic was someone affected by the moon. I just thought it was someone that belonged in a mental institution.

Not necessarily, also people suffer depression during winter months and are fine during summer. There's a condition for it but the name escapes me!

SAD season affective disorder, all to do with a lack of vitamin d from the sunlight

I get that!

A lot of people do to some degree, I suffer quite badly with it, poor em has to put up with me being all grumpy through the winter, you can buy lamps for your house to combat the condition but they're expensive, ess"

You can buy vitamin d with calcium to help the body absorb it.... worked for a natural health shop for a fair while remember some stuff

Ess
