You have to microwave it for a second or two. Especially in winter!

I,'ve found that other "spreadable" butters don't spread all that well. It's not pure butter either as something is added to make it spread (or not spread! Lol) xxx

Stop hijacking the thread - holdups schmoldups!

Back to the butter; in what context are we discussing spreading it?

On bread, on a hot crumpet or a la Last Tango in Paris?

No no no no no, keeping it out of the fridge means it gets a weird sort of film on it and it tastes peculiar.

Got crumpets for breakkie this morning once Wench One surfaces from her pit. (Anchor light spreadable).

Anyway, back to my non holding up holdups ........

I have an insulated plastic butter dish. My butter stays out of the fridge year round as a result. No film on it, stays cool in summer and spreadable in winter. Got it in a gadget shop years ago so they must be more readily available by now?

FFS sake people.

Yes, I understand that if I don't put my lurpac in the fridge it'll spread easier.

But what the fuck am I supposed to do with an empty fridge?

"Mine spreads just fine.

No no no, far too sensible.

You know the Fab rules, find something really trivial, turn it into a first world problem, bleat about it on the forums and ignore the obvious solution.

Your logic will never catch on.

We've found tesco own spreadable butter slightly salted is the easiest to spread but it has to be kept in the fridge as it liquifies if left on the counter
