Would you block someone on the forum?

I noticed I am blocked by someone I've never interacted with. Must have not liked my opinion on something maybe. Would or do you block people from here that don't agree with your _iews? In real world I'm often actually attracted to those I can have a good discussion with, even if our _iews differ.

Don't fret OP, there's a few people that I've never spoken to on here that I've noticed have blocked me. Their prerogative - either I'm not what they're looking for or I've upset them in some way by what I've said or done on here. In fact, probably both

So it happens and who knows the reasons?

Doesn't bother me (I just counter block back as I'm petty like that!) and move on!

I noticed I was too the other night when playing a forum game. Never spoken to them either. Counter blocked now

I don't block anyone for expressing their _iews I only block rude and abusive people and those I don't wish to communicate with anymore.

One particular couple really pissed us off big time in our first ever post, they impressed us originally too, subsequent posts over time have proved us absolutely right.

Not necessarily, some people who go proactively searching block people simply so they don't appear in their searches, so it might be a coincidence.

No, but when someone says something really I have been known to copy & paste it into the notes section of their profile, where it is promptly forgotten about forevermore.

Since we generally have single men blocked, I actually wish there was a facility for forumites to bypass that sometimes. Obviously it would have to have a "no axe-murderers" filter, natch. I'm not an idiot.

Nope never blocked anyone without a good reason, ie having at least some interaction that went a bit wonky

I have been blocked by some, one person who I debated with, and it was a debate (well certainly on my part although they did personally abuse me at one point) I later noticed they blocked me, fair enough you may think, but then they actively seeked me out in the forums to comment of my posts!!

So I upset them so much they block me but then they want to engage with me...

Maybe you're not there type, some people use the block feature to streamline searches seemingly. It might have nothing to with what you post here.

She was from the other end of the country and outside of my chosen age group.I wouldn't have known other than I wanted to reply and was blocked.....obviously she didn't have the urge to take my response which would have been respectful yet advisory that my point of _iew is as valid as anyone else's.

The forums are just another filter extension to me.

You come across profiles, read them, they aren't for you, block, nothing malicious or spiteful. They won't be concerned and neither should you be

People block for a variety of reasons, and that's their prerogative to do so, we all use the site best stated for our own needs.

I have various valid reasons for blocking people. I never question anyone's motives for blocking me.

Makes me laugh though, the arrogance of people who say "their loss" - after being blocked.

If a person is so incompatible, that a block is used, there is no loss whatsoever.

I have blocked a few people, but not because of the forum.

I have had messages from foreign ladies wanting marriage and a passport. And yes I reported those messages.

Also had very insistent messages asking me to indulge in gay sex acts, even though I'm straight. I don't report those, just block the senders, and delete the messages.

I think I got my most Forum blocks in any one day when I said that half the people replying to a particular forum thread were cu*ts. And I still stand by that comment today even though it hit me my only time-out so far.

Ironically, it was all the cu*ts that blocked me. So in the end it was a good result!

I blocked a very odd forum chappie a while back who just kept looking at my profile I got a bit cringe thinking what he was doing.
