My 16 year old daughter knows my log I details. Think I need to change them. I do trust her and she does always ask first to do it when I'm too busy to do it for her so I do kinda trust her.

Upgrading her bank account in half term and told her to set up her own accounts with them.

Wondering if anyone else would trust their teen that much?

My kids have got my bank details stored all over the place, Xbox, ITunes, Netflix etc, I've never had a problem, they ask everytime but it could go very wrong very quickly I suppose.

I don't distrust her as she has given me no reason to and has been responsible and always pays for the things she wants. I was just wondering how many people trust their kids that much.

My parents certainly wouldn't but my nan did as I had access to all her money and never took a thing from her

When my son was 6 he bought £50 worth of tokens to play games on Facebook using my bank details!! I was so shocked he could even do that and fortunately I got it all refunded after explaining to FB ...

He has never done anything like that since though .. phew lol

I trust my 13yr old son with all my bank details, he can access money from my account, he has Apple pay with my details, it's on his Xbox. He has no need to steal from me as he knows he only has to ask and if I can afford it he will get it. I think you need to trust them until they prove otherwise. If he broke my trust he would have all his media removed so he knows it's not worth the risk.

My husband gave our children half their age each week as pocket money, by direct debit. He died one March. I found out months later that in the April my daughter had used his bank details and password to increase her pocket money by the 50p a week he would have done if he was still alive !!

I don't trust my kids with my bank account, mistakes can be made. If I'm lucky it would be a few quid, if I'm not it could be hundreds.

And then there is their guilt if they accidentally fucked up, I know they would feel bad, but ultimately it would be my fault not theirs.

You read those stories where parents have given their kids a game app which they can buy stuff unknowing that they are spending actual money, racking up massive bills.
